Hyderabad:

The BRS on Thursday strongly objected to Andhra Pradesh BJP chief P V N Madhav presenting a map titled "Glory of Indian Culture" to Minister Nara Lokesh in which Telangana was reportedly not visible.

BRS Working President K T Rama Rao, in a post on 'X', urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to clarify whether the omission reflected the BJP's "political agenda or plan".

Mr Rao said that people had fought for generations for a cultural identity, rightful place in history, and geographical recognition for Telangana.

When contacted, Mr Madhav told PTI that the map was a framed artistic picture with only a thin line separating Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

In his post, Mr Rao claimed: "Today, your Andhra Pradesh BJP chief, Madhav garu, has belittled our struggle by gifting a map of a united Andhra Pradesh, ignoring the existence of Telangana. This is absolutely unacceptable and reflects a blatant disregard for the people of Telangana—for our state, our struggle, and the sacrifices of our martyrs and history." He added that if the omission was a genuine oversight, the BJP leadership should apologise to the people of Telangana.

Mr Madhav met Mr Lokesh on Wednesday in Vijayawada after assuming charge as the Andhra BJP president and presented him with the portrait.
