Day After Controversy, Haryana Chief Minister Tweets On Water Crisis

Around a thousand litres of water were reportedly used in preparing a helipad for Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar's chopper in Yamunanagar on Wednesday.

Chandigarh: With Haryana facing a water shortage, the state government has issued directions to deputy commissioners in all districts to prevent misuse of drinking water for gardening or washing cars.

On Friday evening, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar - in a series of tweets - informed that local bodies department has been asked to ensure water to all slums and unauthorized colonies through water tankers.

For villages reeling under water crisis, two thousand water tankers will be made available, the chief minister tweeted.
The move comes a day after Mr Khattar was caught in a controversy over the use of nearly a thousand litres of water to prepare a helipad for the chief minister's chopper in Yamunanagar on Wednesday, a charge refuted by the district administration.
