BJD maintains non-Cong, non-BJP govt stand
New Delhi:

Even as Congress is trying to woo it into UPA fold, Biju Janata Dal on Friday stuck to its familiar stand of favouring a non-Congress and non-BJP government at the Centre.

"We have already made it clear that we would not join any BJP or Congress-led government. We are awaiting the poll results," said BJD spokesperson Damodar Rout.

He said that he spoke to party chief Naveen Patnaik on Friday morning after reports in the media about Congress leadership establishing contacts with the Orissa Chief Minister. "The chief minister said he has received no call from Congress President Sonia Gandhi or any other leader."

Rout, however, said he was not aware if Patnaik and other Congress leaders like Kamal Nath and Ghulam Nabi Azad had any "informal" interaction on the issue.

"Kamal Nath and Ghulam Nabi Azad are personal friends of Patnaik. I cannot say whether they are in touch with the chief minister for this purpose," he said.
