What is reason behind the water breaking early during pregnancy?

I am a 28 years old female. I am 19 weeks pregnant with my second child. During the first time my water broke in the 36th week. I delivered after almost 30 hours of this happening. I would like to know the probable cause of this and what I could do to prevent this happening again.

The water bag bursts early, if there is any genital infection, trauma, urinary infection, or excessive strain. It can occur again, if any of these persists, but may not recur, if there is no cause this time. You need to avoid lifting weights and coitus in the last three months of pregnancy.
