Question
My 67 years old diabetic mother is having pain in knees and the lower ankle. Her knees are swollen and she experiences difficulty in moving and walking long distance. She had to travel by air and therefore the doctor gave her Pantodac – 40 mg, Dolonax – 20 mg, Evion – 400 mg, Neurobion and Diptose gel to apply. Is it safe for her to take these medicines?

Pantodac contains pantoprazole indicated for hyperacidity (also acidity caused by Dolonex). Dolonex is the brand name of piroxicam used in the treatment of arthritis pain and inflammation. Evion 400 has no role in cases like your mother. Neurobion is a combination of vitamins B-1, B-6 and B-12, has no role and has been banned in all advanced countries. Gel can be applied to knee, ankle etc.
