Ghaziabad:
In a suspected case of honour killing, an 18-year-old was on Saturday allegedly strangled to death by her father in Sikri Khurd village near Modinagar, 25 kms from here.
Shamuiddin suspected his daughter of having an affair with a youth of the same village and first asked his daughter to break the relation but as she did not give in, he resorted to such an extreme step, police said.
He called his daughter to a room for having a conversation and then with the help of his family members, he strangled her to death and surrendered before the police in Modinagar police station.
Shamuiddin was taken into custody and will be sent to jail on Sunday after producing him before the magistrate, they said.
