New Delhi: Actor Shahid Kapoor has been prepping hard for his forthcoming film Padmavati in which he will be seen portraying the role of Rani Padmavati's husband Rawal Ratan Singh. The 36-year-old actor, who suffered a ligament tear in July on the sets of the film, has reportedly injured himself again. According to a mid-day report, Shahid Kapoor's ankle injury resurfaced after he shot for some strenuous action sequences. "Shahid had to perform a few stunts. It has taken a toll on him and his ankles are swollen," a source close to the unit told mid-day. "The unit is racing against time to meet the deadline. It is impossible to halt the shoot at this stage. He has almost 10 days of shoot left," the source added.

At the IFFA awards, Shahid Kapoor's ankle injury had resurfaced during the rehearsal for his gig despite that the actor performed on stage with full enthusiasm leaving the audience in awe.

On Monday, Shahid Kapoor shared the first look of his character Rani Padmavati's husband Rawal Ratan Singh from Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmavati. See the posters shared by Shahid Kapoor here:
Padmavati also stars Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in lead roles. Deepika features in the titular role and Ranveer Singh will be seen playing the role of historic ruler Alauddin Khilji.
Padmavati is scheduled to release in theatres on December 1.
