Sashaa Agha makes her debut in the film Aurangzeb

  • "My great grand father was Jugal Kishore Mehra, who was Raj Kapoor's uncle and married to famous singer Anwari Begum. My grandmother Nusrin Agha was a well-known singer as well. So in a way, I am the fourth generation singer in my family," she said.
  • Sashaa's mother Salma Agha is best remembered for her award winning song Dil Ke Armaan from B R Chopra's movie Nikaah.
  • While for Aurangzeb producer Aditya Chopra got Sashaa, who is a trained singer from the Kirana Gharana, to sing a peppy number titled Barbaadiyaan. He roped her in only after he heard her voice during the audition.
  • The song Barbaadiyaan is a club track filmed on Sashaa and Arjun Kapoor, who plays the male lead.
  • "She has sung this beautiful track for the film. Her voice is melodious," a spokesperson from Yash Raj Films said.
  • Directed by debutant Atul Sabharwal, Aurangzeb features Arjun Kapoor, Sashaa Agha, Jackie Shroff, Amrita Singh and Rishi Kapoor. The film releases on May 17.
