Happy birthday, Sharmila Tagore. The veteran actress, who has left an indelible mark in Indian cinema history, turns a year older today. As always, birthday wishes for the actress are flowing in from all quarters.  And, a very special message came Sharmila Tagore's way from her granddaughter Sara Ali Khan. The young star posted a picture with her “badi amma” as she fondly calls her grandmother and attached a lovely caption to the post. In the caption, she said, “Happiest Birthday, Badi amma. I love you so much. Thank you for always being here for us and being a constant pillar of support. Inshallah, I hope that I can always make you proud.”

Sara Ali Khan is the daughter of Sharmila Tagore's son, actor Saif Ali Khan from his first marriage to actress Amrita Singh.  See the birthday post here:

Sara Ali Khan is not the only member of the Pataudi clan to wish Sharmila Tagore on the big day. Actress Kareena Kapoor Khan, who is married to Saif Ali Khan, also dropped a note on Instagram Stories. Sharing a black and white photo of the actress from decades ago, Kareena Kapoor wrote, “Happy birthday, my beautiful mother-in-law…Iconic,” followed by several heart emojis.

Meanwhile, daughter Soha Ali Khan has arrived at Pataudi palace to celebrate her mother's birthday. Soha is accompanied by her little one Inaya Naumi Kemmu.

Saba Pataudi, Sharmila Tagore's daughter, also shared a video montage of her mother's throwback pictures and wrote, “Ma...You reflect inner beauty, grace becomes you. Keep shining...Happy Birthday. Lots of love...Always.”

Sharmila Tagore made her Bollywood debut with Kashmir Ki Kali in 1964, after being introduced by legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray in the Bengali film Apur Sansar in 1959. She is known for her work in Aradhana, Chupke Chupke, and Amar Prem.  In 1969, Sharmila Tagore married iconic cricketer and the Nawab of Pataudi, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi.
