Suraj Pancholi was reportedly roped in to play the lead in the remake of Subhash Ghai's 1983 film Hero.

- Suraj is currently at his home after the court granted him bail and his parents Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Wahab are relieved that their dear son is back. While the veteran actress says, "We want to give him his space," Aditya points out, "I think Salman has called him to Hyderabad next week and I will request the police to allow him to go and meet him. We will see what he (Suraj) wants to do as of now. We could take him to a counsellor."
- While stating that the remake will go on the floors as planned, Ghai says, "Salman will take the final call. I will be going to meet him next week. It's just bad luck; I don't think Suraj should be blamed for what happened. But Salman will take the final call and decide how and when things will happen."
- According to some insiders, the star could also hold a press conference in Hyderabad. Suraj was arrested on June 10 on the charge of allegedly abetting the suicide of actress Jiah Khan.
