- The daughter of veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha, Sonakshi started her career as a model. She walked the ramp at Lakme Fashion Week in 2008 and 2009. She completed a fashion designing course before entering Bollywood. For her first film role, Jr Shotgun Sinha lost 30 kgs to portray village belle Rajo.
- Post the success of Dabangg, Sonakshi has graced the covers of Vogue, Maxim and Marie Claire but the actress maintains that she will not do intimate scenes or sport a bikini ever on screen. Sonakshi has largely avoided feeding the rumour mills, but there were whispers of a relationship with her Lootera co-star, Ranveer Singh, who’s break up with actress Anushka Sharma was ascribed to her.
