New Delhi:

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor are now expecting parents. After five years of dating, the couple married at their house Vastu with their family and close friends being the only guests at the wedding functions. Last month, Alia announced "pregnancy" with a picture of her laying on what looked like a hospital bed and Ranbir Kapoor sitting by her side. While Alia is shooting in Europe for her work, Ranbir is busy with promotional duties. The actor talked about being a father soon and how he is wrapped up in a gamut of emotions.

"I am feeling grateful, excited, nervous and terrified. Because I have so many expectations of myself and of this relationship and what I want from it and what I want to give... These are the only adjectives I can use," he was quoted by news agency PTI as saying.

The actor, who last featured in Sanju in 2018, also said that a baby wouldn't change the course of his professional life and there isn't a film in his 15-year career that he would be ashamed of while showing his child.

He said, "I am always conscious because I know society gets impacted by it. I will not do anything to belittle anyone or anybody for the sake of entertainment. That's my personality. I don't regret or (feel) ashamed of any film that I have done. I don't think there is any film that I would like to shield them (children) from."

In fact, Ranbir would want to take feedback from his kids. "I believe failures are as important as successes. I would like to hear from them say that 'Papa, that was such a bad film' and probably laugh with them or 'Papa that was so much fun' and feel very happy about it," he said.

On June 27, Alia posted a picture by writing, "Our baby ..... coming soon." Take a look at the post below:

The couple is going to star together for the first time in Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra. Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy are also featuring in the film. The sci-fi love story will release on September 9.

Meanwhile, Ranbir is promoting his film Shamshera co-starring Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor, to be released on July 22.
