On Monday, Priyanka Chopra congratulated R Madhavan's son Vedaant Madhavan for winning a gold for India in swimming at the Danish Open 2022. Priyanka tweeted, "Wohooo! congratulations @VedaantMadhavan! That's an amazing feat! Keep trailblazing! Congratulations @ActorMadhavan and Sarita." R Madhavan replied to Priyanka and wrote, "Wow ... thank you so so much .. don't know what to say.. we are so thrilled and excited. God's grace and thank you for your kindness once again @priyankachopra.. you are the very best." Vedaant Madhavan won the medal in the 800m swimming event.

On April 18, R Madhavan had shared a video from Vedaant's swimming competition and had captioned it as "GOLD....With all your blessings and God's greatest the winning street continues. Today it's a GOLD IN 800m for @vedaantmadhavan. Overwhelmed and humbled. Thank you Coach @bacpradeep sir @swimmingfederation.in @ansadxb and the entire team."

Not just gold, Vedaant Madhavan also won a silver medal. Vedaant won the medal in the 1500m freestyle swimming event. R Madhavan had shared a video with the caption, "@vedaantmadhavan wins Silver for India at the Danish Open in Copenhagen. Thank you so much Pradeep sir, #swimmingfederationofindia and #ansadxb for all your efforts. We are so proud."

R Madhavan got married to Sarita in 1999 and in August 2005, they welcomed Vedaant Madhavan. Vedaant has represented India in various tournaments and has also won medals for the country.

On the work front, R Madhavan will next be seen in Rocketry: The Nambi Effect. The film will release on July 1, 2022, and is based on the life of former Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) scientist Nambi Narayanan.
