Kick Storms Box Office, Collects Rs 83 Crores in Opening Weekend

  • But the movie just missed bagging the much coveted 100 crore mark in opening weekend, a feat earlier achieved by his movie Ek Tha Tiger.
  • While Ek Tha Tiger entered the Rs 100 crore club on its first weekend, Bodyguard earned Rs 88 crore.
  • Kick has become the highest opening day grossing film of 2014, although it hasn’t been able to break the opening day record of last year’s potboilers like Dhoom 3, and Chennai Express which managed to enter the 100 crore club over the opening weekend itself.
  • While Dhoom 3 amassed Rs 36.22 crore on its opening day, Chennai Express minted Rs 33.12 crore, Kick collected Rs 26 crore on the day it released.
  • The festival of Eid, which falls on July 29 this year, is expected to boost the film’s box office collection.
