- The film was temporarily shelved when Aishwarya's pregnancy was outed by father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan in the now famous all caps tweet. Bhandarkar said he was never told by Aishwarya and the Big B's breaking news tweet was when he came to know.
- The film was temporarily shelved as the producers felt certain scenes were too intense and physical for a pregnant lead actor, though Aishwarya had apparently filmed a few scenes.
- Months later, Kareena Kapoor stepped in. Arjun Rampal and Randeep Hooda are the male leads in the film. Apart from the item numbers, Kareena wears 130 costumes in the film, designed by Manish Malhotra.
- On the sets today, Arjun Rampal posted this tweet: "Back on the sets of #heroine with @mbhandarkar268 lovely to see him all positive,energized,need some of that energy,to overcome my jetlag." The actor has been in New York City.
