New Delhi:

When Saiyami Kher met Sachin Tendulkar, it was a dream come true moment for the Ghoomer star. The actress posted a video where she performed her bowling action live for Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar. FYI: Saiyami plays the role of a differently abled sportsperson in R Balki's sports drama. The clip opens with Sachin saying, “I have seen your action in the movie. I want to see it in real life.” To this, Saiyami replies, “So I have done this but now the pressure [is] standing in front of … you.” Later, she performs the bowling action, leaving the legendary cricketer impressed. In the long note, accompanying the Instagram video, Saiyami wrote, “What is the one dream you had as a child that you never thought could never come true? Mine was that someday, I would get to meet Sachin Tendulkar, my hero, my inspiration, my teacher. I have loved and learnt this game watching him play. I've bunked college to watch him play. I've had the loudest 'Sachinnn Sachhhin' chant in the North Stand. So, I can't seem to explain what this means to me.”

Saiyami Kher expressed how Sachin Tendulkar with his cricket gave her “joy”, taught her “how to fight, how to never give up, how to work hard, how to stay grounded” and also taught her “passion.”

“His 136 at Chennai, the Sharjah Storm, 241 at Sydney, 98 vs Pakistan, the list is endless. He gave me joy, he taught me how to fight, he taught me passion, how to never give up, how to work hard, and how to stay grounded. Unknowingly, he taught me how to live. When I began acting, my friends ragged me and said, 'Ja ja, acting kar. Someday Sachin will watch your film.' And that became my goal. To work hard and hope that someday the Master will watch my work,” she added.

Talking about the "dream come true" moment of her life, Saiyami Kher wrote, “And then, it happened, the God of Cricket saw a film in which I play a cricketer. The God of Cricket asked me to show him how I bowled the Ghoomer. Dreams really do come true. This. This part of my life is called happiness.”

Saiyami Kher's Ghoomer co-star Abhishek Bachchan dropped a hands-up emoji in the comments. Dino Morea wrote, “Proud of you, SK”, while Meiyang Chang commented: “Come on…What a beautiful, wonderful dream to come true. And what a release.”

Singer Harshdeep Kaur also reacted to Saiyami Kher's post. She said, “So proud of you!! This is a surreal moment…more power to you.” Gulshan Devaiah, who is earning all the praises for Guns and Gulaabs, left a bunch of happy face emoticons in the comments section. Lust Stories 2 star Amruta Subhas wrote, “Wow [red heart].”

Days ago, Sachin Tendulkar reviewed Ghoomer in a special post. The cricket legend found the sports drama “extremely inspiring.” He lauded the star cast for their impeccable work. According to Sachin, while “Abhishek Bachchan was fantastic as the coach, Saiyami looked very authentic, her love for cricket and her ability to understand the character was amazing.”
