NDTV Opinion Poll: Chandrababu Naidu makes big gains in Seemandhra

NDTV's opinion poll shows a big leap forward for Chandrababu Naidu in the regions of Seemandhra, which will, starting June 2, form the new down-sized Andhra Pradesh. Mr Naidu's Telugu Desam Party or TDP gets 14 of the 25 parliamentary seats at stake, according to the forecast. That's a gain of 10 seats from 2009. (Complete opinion poll coverage)

A very strong runner-up is the new party founded by Jagan Mohan Reddy, who quit the Congress after his father, YS Rajasekhara Reddy, died during his term as Chief Minister. Jagan's YRS Congress, named for his father, gets 10 seats in the first national election it is contesting.

The Congress takes a huge beating for sanctioning the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh by carving out the Telangana region as India's 29th state. The part gets just one seat, down by 20 from 2009.
