The registration for AIBE ended on March 5, 2017. The Bar Council of India also increased the application fee for AIBE to Rs. 3500 this year.
This is not the first delay. Earlier the Bar Council of India had announced the exam date to be February 26, 2017 which was later postponed to March 26, 2017. This year the BCI has also made some significant changes to the syllabus of AIBE. The change in the syllabus was not notified on the official website and was only detected by AIBE aspirants and agencies which provide bar examination preparation services. It has added four new subjects and dropped three subjects from the previous syllabus.
The four new subjects added are:
- Public Interest Litigation
- Intellectual Property
- The Land Acquisition Act 1894
The three subjects dropped are:
- Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
- The Limitation Act, 1963
Other than the changes in the syllabus, every other detail remains the same. AIBE will be conducted in 11 languages and will be an open book exam.
