New Delhi:
Nine persons, including seven women, were arrested in the Capital with police on Monday claiming that they have unearthed a fake visa racket.
Investigators said the racket was involved in sending women to Dubai and 30 forged paper visas of Dubai, a forged passport, nine forged visa stickers of New Zealand and Sierra Leone and 31 passports were recovered from them.
The seven women were about to fly to Dubai allegedly with fake documents when they were apprehended from Indira Gandhi International Airport, Ashok Chand, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime), said.
The arrests came on Saturday following Delhi Police receiving an input from central intelligence agencies that women are being sent to Dubai on forged visas.
"We got an information that the travel agent involved in forging visas and the agent involved in recruiting women for sending them to Dubai would meet in Mahipalpur. A trap was laid and two persons were apprehended," Chand said.
The arrested men were identified as Aman Marwaha (31) and Dinesh Sahu (35).
During interrogation, Chand said, they told police that eight women for whom they have prepared forged paper visas of Dubai would depart from the airport by Kingfisher Airlines.
A police team reached the airport where Immigration officials handed over the detained women along with the documents for further action.
During scrutiny of these documents it was observed that seven women had two paper visas of Dubai, one original and one forged and they disclosed that they have used the forged visa to clear the immigration, Chand said.
The seven arrested women were identified as Snheal Vilas Kadam (27), Amandeep Kaur (22), Ravneet Kaur (21), Mukta Bhatkhande (25), Asiya Shikalgar (23), Rajeshree Thakur (24) and Durgesh (26).
The eighth woman who was identified as Ranjita Rajnat (30) was not arrested as her documents are still being verified.
"Sahu and Marwaha disclosed that the agents in Dubai contact them for dancers to perform in the hotels. Both of them scout for women and after identifying them, the contract rates are negotiated. The contracts rates vary from Rs 75,000 to one lakh per month for each woman," Chand said.
Apart from identifying the woman, they were also responsible for sending them to Dubai. They obtain original visa from Dubai wherein the profession would be mentioned as "artist".
