New Delhi: Depressed over his sleeping disorder, a 50-year-old business man allegedly committed suicide on Wednesday morning in his residence in upscale Greater Kailash-II, police said.
Kulbeer Singh shot himself with his .32 bore pistol at around 8 a.m.
Singh, who owns a leather factory in Okhla Industrial Area, left a suicide note which mentioned that he was depressed over his sleeping disorder for the past few months.
The incident came to light when his family members heard the sound of a gunshot. "They rushed to Singh's room and found him lying in a pool of blood," said a senior police official.
"Singh was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. His body was sent for postmortem examination," official added.
The official said, "In the suicide note, Singh said nobody should be blamed for his death. It was solely his decision to end his life. He said he has been suffering from sleep disorders for the past few months and in order to put an end to this problem, he is committing suicide."
Police have registered a case and were interrogating the deceased's relatives and friends.
Singh is survived by his wife and three daughters.
