Model Viveka Babajee's ex-boyfriend moves court for anticipatory bail

Model Viveka Babajee's ex-boyfriend moves court for anticipatory bail
Mumbai: Model Viveka Babajee's former boyfriend Gautam Vohra has moved the Mumbai Sessions Court for anticipatory bail.

Mumbai Police has said it will question Vohra, a stock broker, in connection with the death of the 37-year-old.

Police have issued summons to Vohra. They suspect Viveka was depressed after her break-up with Vohra.

The top model hanged herself from the ceiling fan in her flat in the posh suburb of Bandra on Friday.

A mobile phone, a laptop, a diary and a few letters addressed to Gautam Vohra were among the various things recovered from her residence. The last entry in her diary recovered by the police reads "I Kill".

According to police sources, Viveka had a fight with Vohra on June 24, just two days before her death. The last two calls from her mobile were to a woman friend and to her family in Mauritius. She had told her family that she was going far, far away.

The police are examining her diary which they say could reveal whether she committed suicide of her own accord or was pushed to the edge, though police sources say she had tried to commit suicide at least once before.

The case is a throwback to the suicide of another to model Nafisa Joseph in 2004, also the result of love gone awry. These are the cases which underline the dark side of the glamour world where people and relationships may be much more fragile than they seem. (With PTI inputs)
