Anna Hazare's car attacked, allegedly by Youth Congress
Nagpur: Around 15 people have been detained in Nagpur for pelting stones at a car belonging to activist Anna Hazare's trust. The Youth Congress workers allegedly pelted stones at the car before Anna's rally because the vehicle was reportedly carrying books which criticised Rahul Gandhi. Its windows were broken, tweeted Kiran Bedi, a member of Anna's core team.

However, the social activist was travelling in another car which reached the rally location safely. Several Youth Congress workers were also arrested for shouting slogans against Anna.

The Maharashtra state Youth Congress president Vishwajeet Kadam reportedly said that the protests were "justified". However, Nagpur city and district Congress president, Jaiprakash Gupta denied involvement of Congress workers.

The Scorpio which was carrying the books to be sold was attacked at Chitnis Park. Anna's aide Suresh Pathare said the assailants first pelted stones and then picked up the books and began shouting slogans in support of Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi.

Meanwhile, Mr Hazare "denied" knowledge of any such booklet being circulated.

Mr Hazare embarked on the Maharashtra tour from May 1 for spreading awareness among people about the need for enacting a strong anti-corruption ombudsman.
