New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal met Delhi's Lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung on Tuesday evening and staked claim to form government in Delhi. He will take oath on Saturday, February 14, exactly a year after he resigned as chief minister after 49 days in office.

Here are the top ten developments:

  1. Mr Kejriwal's two-year-old Aam Aadmi Party has won 67 of Delhi's 70 seats. The opposition is made up of three BJP legislators. The Congress has no seat in the new assembly.

  2. On Tuesday evening, the AAP's newly elected MLAs chose Arvind Kejriwal as the legislative party leader at a meeting at Delhi's Constitution Club.

  3. "For the first time in history, such respect has been given to a party, now it's our duty to respect people's decision," AAP leader Manish Sisodia told reporters after the meeting.

  4. Mr Kejriwal has won from the New Delhi constituency defeating Nupur Sharma of the BJP by over 30,000 votes. He collected his victory certificate from Gole Market before attending the meeting of AAP legislators.

  5. On Wednesday morning, Mr Kejriwal has appointments with Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh. He will also meet President Pranab Mukherjee, said some media reports.

  6. He has also sought a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has invited him for tea or a "chai pe charcha."  A date has not been announced.

  7. Mr Kejriwal, 46, is expected to take oath along with his new ministers on Saturday evening at the Ramlila grounds, the same park that he took oath at last year.

  8. It was at the Ramlila grounds that Mr Kejriwal shot to national fame as Gandhian activist Anna Hazare's chief aide during the latter's anti-corruption campaign in 2011.

  9. On Saturday, sources said, Arvind Kejriwal is expected to travel in a roadshow from his home in Ghaziabad to the Ramlila grounds to take oath.

  10. It is not clear yet whether Arvind Kejriwal's first Sunday as chief minister will be spent at work. Some of his party colleagues have reportedly said they would like to watch the India-Pakistan World Cup match.
