Toyota is gearing up for the launch of the updated version of the Hilux for the global market. The Japanese car maker has shared a teaser of the new Toyota Hilux on social media, announcing 10th November as the official date for unveiling. While the teaser does not reveal much about the design highlights, reports claim that with the update, the new Hilux will get an enhanced exterior and interior design.
The eighth-generation Hilux, launched globally in 2015, has seen several minor facelifts over time. Now, Toyota is preparing its most substantial update yet. Instead of switching to an all-new platform, the brand appears to be refining the existing one with major design and feature enhancements, aimed at keeping the Hilux relevant and competitive well into the future.
Previous spy shots suggest that the new Hilux will get a refreshed exterior with a new grille, carrying a mesh-type design, and the lower grille consists of horizontal and vertical slats. While the bumper seems to be larger than the outgoing model, there's no sign of a faux skid plate. Also, with the update, the Hilux will get a sharper front with a flat and upright stance complemented by sharper-looking boomerang-shaped headlamps.

The exact interior features and highlights can only be confirmed post the official reveal. However, we expect it to get a redesigned dashboard and center console, along with a large freestanding touchscreen infotainment system-possibly around 12 inches. A fully digital TFT instrument cluster is also likely to be part of the updated cabin.
The upcoming Toyota Hilux is expected to retain its familiar 2.8-liter, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine, available with or without a 48V mild-hybrid system. This unit delivers 201bhp and 500Nm of torque in standard form, while the top-spec GR Sport variant boosts output to 221bhp and 550Nm for enhanced performance.
