Mercedes-Benz has taken the wraps off the Vision Iconic Concept at the luxury car brand's design house in Shanghai, China. The brand claims that the Mercedes-Benz Vision Iconic Concept is inspired by the golden era of automotive design of the 1930s. This showcar embodies the pure essence of Mercedes-Benz. While it does retain the design inspiration from the older cars, it also features advanced tech features.

Starting with the design, the Mercedes-Benz Vision Iconic Concept carries an upright radiator grille, as seen on the 1956 300Sc. However, this grille has been highlighted with illuminated elements. Also, the sloping roofline and the long bonnet might remind you of the Mercedes 300 SL. The brand carries the iconic Mercedes logo on the nose, and the illuminated star motif on the headlights gives it a premium and modern look.

On the inside, Mercedes has retained the cabin design of its retro cars. However, it has been refreshed and has been added with new elements for a modern look and utility. The Mercedes-Benz Vision Iconic Concept gets a floating glass dashboard centerpiece structure called the Zeppelin. It features analog parts with digital displays. The interior, with its continuous bench seat and the elegant rear, evokes memories of the legendary 300 SL. It also features a 4-spoke steering wheel has the Mercedes logo inside a glass sphere.
