Mahindra is developing several new products to be introduced in various segments. Along with this, the brand is set to unveil a new platform for its future models on August 15, 2025, India's Independence Day, in Mumbai. Before the event, the brand has released a new clip teasing the same. Based on the latest teaser, the platform will likely be called NU. Earlier, this platform was called NFA (New Flexible Architecture).

The teaser was shared on social media by Mahindra Automotive's handle, which is responsible for the manufacturing of ICE vehicles. However, the clip features the Mahindra Electric Origin SUV logo and hashtags. This might be a hint that a new platform might be used for underpinning both ICE and electric vehicles.

Speculating on it, the new platform might be able to support petrol, diesel, hybrid, and all-electric powertrains for various upcoming models. It will be produced at the Indian manufacturer's Chakan Plant. This manufacturing facility is being upgraded to increase its capacity to make the brand future-ready.

There are theories suggesting that the new Bolero, which is undergoing tests in India, will be based on the NFA or Freedom NU platform. This is a monocoque structure that is rumored to make its debut with the upcoming Bolero or Thar Sports; neither of these names has been confirmed.

Additionally, there are whispers about Mahindra developing hybrid powertrains. The conjecture is that Mahindra's approach will focus on range-extender type PHEVs rather than the self-charging (strong hybrid) models with smaller batteries and minimal electric range.

For several years, Mahindra Auto has presented various new products and concepts on Indian Independence Day, and this year will continue that tradition. Rather than introducing new vehicles and ideas, Mahindra will be highlighting a new platform on August 15.
