Dacia, functioning under Renault's umbrella, has been flourishing in the international market. One of the key supporters in the growth of the brand is the Duster SUV. While India awaits the launch of the vehicle, the international market is getting various iterations of the vehicle. The latest iteration is a pickup truck version of the mid-size SUV. Called the Duster Pick-up Double Cab, the vehicle promises to be a diverse daily driver.

Even though it has a pick-up design, the Duster can accommodate four passengers in the cabin, and the cargo area has a maximum carrying capacity of 430 kg. The dimensions of the flatbed area measure 1,050 mm in length and 1,000 mm in width, and the open bed format permits the storage of items of varying sizes and heights within the Duster. However, in comparison to a regular pickup truck, the flatbed size is relatively small.

The Duster's capabilities are further enhanced by its 4x4 traction system. In addition to seating four passengers, the Duster Pick-Up includes comfort features like a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, a six-speaker sound system, and a range of safety technologies, including hill start assist, automatic emergency braking, and electronic stability control (ESP).

Just like the Duster available in international markets, this pickup offers the same hybrid engine choices. The first option is the Hybrid 140, which pairs a 94-hp 1.6-liter inline-four engine with two electric motors, one acting as a starter-generator and the other connected to the transmission, providing an additional 49 hp. The total combined output is around 140 hp.

The second engine option is the Mild-Hybrid, which combines a 130-hp 1.2-liter turbocharged inline-three with a small assist motor for starting and energy recovery during braking. Both engine variants deliver power to an all-wheel-drive system, and the Duster features a ground clearance of 8.8 inches.

While Renault has not yet made any statement related to the introduction of the Duster Pick-Up, it is anticipated that the automaker will soon reveal a launch date for the standard Duster SUV in India. It is expected to return under the Renault India brand like its predecessor, and reports suggest that a timeline for its introduction may be announced as early as October 2025.
