UP Govt cannot bear Right to Education expenses: Mayawati
NDTV Correspondent, Saturday April 3, 2010, New Delhi

On a day when she began recruitment for her Memorial Protection Force, Mayawati, the UP Chief Minister, gave a thumbs down for the landmark Right to Education (RTE) Act. (Read: Mayawati spends crores on guards for memorials)

Blaming the Centre for not making any financial allocations, in a letter to the Prime Minister, Mayawati has said that the UP Govt cannot bear the expenses, and that the States should have been consulted before passing RTE.

Mayawati says the Centre can't decide what the state governments should do and that implementing RTE will cost Uttar Pradesh Rs 8,000 crore this fiscal.

She also added that the Centre should bear all the costs.

A nominal ratio of 65 per cent by the Centre and 35 per cent by the State had been settled while passing the Act.

The RTE Act came into force on Thursday and promises to ensure education for all children between 6 and 14, a whopping 22 crore children, out of which nearly 1.1 crore are out of school.

Have u'll noticed the trend Let it be womens bill or Right To Education the major road blocks is from the same states UP/BIHAR,which is supposed to be the heart of Indian Politics if the heart doesnot function properly then it is dangerous for the complete body so its is time to introspect whether the appointed doctors for the state are capable of managing the heart well or not. The funny part is when it comes to womens bill they have got reservations about reservations and when it comes to RTE they have got reservations about the reservation of funds. In short where reservation is required there is no reservation and where reservation is required there is no reservation no wonder all the UP/BIHAR is flooded in all the other states.Hope the hafta system ends and monthly system prevails(HA HA)look forward to hear from u'll and also if you'll can shoot some specialist names for the post then we can diagonise them the process has to begin now so that the canditate chosen will be the best here proactive thinking is reqd not impulsive
