Robbers flee with cash, CCTV hard disk

Mumbai: In a smart move, robbers decamping with cash from a garment store in Bandra, also took away the hard disk connected to the CCTV cameras of the shop. This was done to make sure that the police do not trace them.

On Friday night, police said, some unidentified persons broke open the lock of Kuni Garments at Pali Naka and allegedly took away Rs 35,000 in cash.

"The next morning, when the employees of the shop arrived, they saw the locks broken. They immediately informed their boss, who registered a complaint with the police," said an officer from Bandra police station.

The robbers also decamped with the hard disk connected with the CCTV cameras installed in the shop. "The robbers must have noticed that they might be caught on the CCTV camera. In order to avoid any problems with the police later, they must have stolen the hard disk too," the officer said.

The police, in the meantime, are talking to the staffers of the shop.

"This has been done in order to ascertain that no insider is involved in the case," said the police officer.

However, the owner of the shop has categorically told the police that he trusted his employees and did not have any suspicion about them.
