Farooq Abdullah suffering from pneumonia, admitted to AIIMS
New Delhi: Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Farooq Abdullah has been admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences after he complained of fever and pain.

After investigations doctors diagnosed him of suffering from viral pneumonia.

Admitted yesterday evening in the first floor of the new private ward in the hospital, Dr Abdullah is under the supervision of Dr G C Khilnani, professor with the department of medicine.

"He was admitted yesterday at 6.08 pm. He came with complains of fever and pain. After investigations we found that he has contracted viral pneumonia. He is responding well to treatment and he needs rest," a senior doctor with the hospital said.

Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah confirmed the same from his twitter account. "Before the unnecessary speculation starts, dad is in hospital with a pneumonic infection in the lungs. Few days' rest needed, that's all.", his twitter account read.
