Driver killed by friends in Bangalore

Bangalore: A 27-year-old school van driver was killed in Rameshnagar near HAL early on Wednesday.  The police have identified the deceased as Shivu, a resident of Vibhutipura. Shivu died on the spot after being attacked by a gang who had asked him to come to Rameshnagar.

The gang members attacked Shivu with machetes. He sustained injuries on his neck and shoulder. Deputy commissioner of police (South East) BNS Reddy, said, "Shivu was killed by his friends. They had a fight four days ago due to dispute over money. We know who killed him and we will arrest them by tomorrow," he said.

Inspector (HAL police station) N Purushottam identified the gang who killed Shivu as Das and his associates.  The police, however, said that there were other two suspects in the murder. The culprits had targeted Shivu's brother, but unfortunately killed him.

Shivu was alleged to be in an illicit relationship with a woman. His friends had warned him to discontinue the relationship, but Shivu did not pay any heed. Shivu's body was taken to Bowring Hospital for post-mortem before being handed over to his family. A case has been registered in HAL police station and investigation is on.
