Truck swings off highway, crashes into a house
Urunga, New South Wales: Two people were killed and seven hospitalised after a truck smashed into a home in the Australian state of New South Wales early on Saturday morning.

The B-double truck collided with a utility car on a highway at Urunga, south of Coffs Harbour, before hurtling off the road and smashing into the house at about 5 am local time.

The driver of the car, aged in his 20s, and an 11-year-old boy sleeping in his bedroom were killed.

A local resident described she heard a "big crashing thump" when the truck hit the house.

The boy's family was trapped in the house for some time, police said.

His 14-year-old brother, who was also asleep in the house when the crash occurred, was treated by paramedics for minor injuries.

He was in a stable condition in hospital, along with four people who suffered minor limb injuries in the house next door.

A 31-year-old male passenger in the truck suffered a head injury along with spinal and limb injuries. The truck's driver, a 40-year-old man, was treated for chest and limb injuries.

They were also taken to hospital and are in a serious condition.

The accident, which happened on a notorious stretch of a highway that has a history of bad accidents, has blocked traffic in both directions.
