'Your Son Killed Jews': Hamas Operative's Call To Father Released By Israel

Israel-Gaza War: He refers to the Israelis killed in the attack as Jews.

The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) has released an audio recording that it claims is a conversation between a Hamas operative and his family - where he is allegedly bragging about killing Israelis during the October 7 mass breach.

In the audio, the man - believed to be a Hamas operative - is heard bragging about killing Israelis while talking to a man who he addresses as his father.

He refers to the Israelis killed in the attack as Jews.

"Look how many I killed with my own hands! Your son killed Jews!," he is heard saying.

"Hold your head up, father, hold your head up," he says.

The man said he was calling from an Israeli woman's phone he just murdered. "Dad, I am talking from a Jewish woman's phone. I killed her and killed her husband," he says.

"Oh my son, God bless you," the father is purportedly heard saying.

The man then tells his mother to join the call.

He asks his parents to check his WhatsApp. "See on WhatsApp those that I killed, open my WhatsApp."

"Mom, your son is a hero," he adds.

The woman responds, "Is that Mahmoud, promise to come back".

Earlier this week, Israel released a video showing Hamas operatives confessing to killing civilians in Israel.

In the video, the men claim they were promised stipends for taking Israeli civilians as hostage. "Whoever kidnaps a hostage and brings them to Gaza is to get a stipend of $10,000 and an apartment," a Hamas operative is purportedly heard saying in the video.

They are also heard saying that they were specifically instructed by their handlers to kidnap elderly and children.

Hamas entered Israel from the Gaza Strip on October 7, and killed at least 1,400 people, mostly civilians who were shot or burnt to death on the first day of the raid.

Since then, more than 5,000 Palestinians, mainly civilians, have been killed across the Gaza Strip in relentless Israeli bombardments in retaliation for the attacks by the Palestinian group.

Hamas also took 222 people hostage, among them elderly people and young children, according to the Israeli authorities' latest count.

Hamas has released four hostages so far. The Palestinian group released two elderly Isreli women on Monday citing "compelling humanitarian" reasons, after mediation by Qatar and Egypt.

Their release comes days after a US mother and daughter were freed.
