Here Are 7 Tips For Planning An International Trip:
1. Start With Your WHY
Before you even book a ticket, ask yourself: What's my purpose? Am I going for comfort, culture, adventure, or peace? Knowing your 'why' shapes your entire trip - from destinations to activities.
2. Book Flights And Stays In Advance
Drishti stresses that planning ahead saves both time and money. "Flights and hotels are easier on the pocket and mind when booked early," she adds.
3. Know The Basics Before You Land
A little research goes a long way. Learn about currency rules, SIM options, common scams and cultural do's & don'ts. This preparation can prevent days of confusion and unnecessary stress.
4. Public Transport & Google Maps Are Your Best Friends
From deciding where to stay, eat, or explore, Maps is a lifesaver. Metros work similarly across cities, and buses often turn out to be cheaper, easier and more convenient.
5. Learn Local Apps
"Apps like Naver, PrepareGo, and translation tools literally saved my trip in Korea," Drishti says. Local apps often beat global ones in reliability and efficiency.
6. Never Travel Without Essentials
Always carry an international credit/debit card, emergency local cash and USD. Drishti recalls, "I had to literally find an Indian tourist in Thailand to exchange money."
7. Trust Your Indian Jugaad Instincts
Things may go wrong, but that is when your skills - decision-making, confidence, adaptability and leadership - shine. "Something might go wrong, but that's where your skills are tested & real stories come from," she notes.
Drishti Sharma's approach proves that international travel can be both safe and fun. It is all about preparation, smart tools and trusting yourself while exploring new places.
