A passenger recently took to X to express their heartfelt gratitude towards Indian Railways staff who helped her recover a valuable belonging forgotten on a train. The post has since gone viral and grabbed many eyeballs online. X user Diya (@diyaatwt) explained that she forgot her iPad when she was on her way to Bhopal onboard the Dakshin Express on December 27. She said she only realised it was missing "an hour later," which resulted in "chaos" and "lots of crying."
She called the Railways' helpline (#139) and logged a report on the RailMadad app to flag the missing item. She revealed that she managed to get it back quickly. In the X post, she wrote, "Amazingly, within minutes we got a call from the helpline, a quick follow-up with RPF + the TTE on the train, and staff at the next station, Itarsi. The iPad was recovered!" In later comments, the passenger revealed that the device contained many of her study notes. She also thanked various staff members by name.
