- Passengers often rush to disembark immediately after a plane lands despite no immediate exit
- A viral Instagram video shows a boy calmly waiting last to leave, avoiding the rush
- The video reveals rushed passengers end up waiting on a full airport shuttle bus together
What usually happens the moment an aircraft lands? Airplane mode is switched off, phones light up with notifications, and passengers begin reaching for their cabin baggage, often well before the aircraft doors even open. The aisle quickly fills up, with people eager to disembark as soon as possible. It almost feels like a race. But does rushing really make a difference? Not always.
A viral Instagram video, which has already clocked over 27 million views, is prompting travellers to rethink this familiar post-landing ritual. In the clip, a young traveller captures fellow passengers hurrying past him as they prepare to exit the aircraft. Meanwhile, he remains seated, calm and unbothered, choosing to be the last person to leave.
As the video progresses, his reasoning becomes clear. Once he finally steps off the plane, he pans the camera towards the airport shuttle bus, already filled with passengers who had rushed ahead, waiting for him to board before it can depart.
"Everyone rushes off the plane...just to wait for me on the bus," reads the text overlay on the video.
The simple yet sharp observation has struck a chord online. Many viewers found the logic amusing and relatable, while others pointed out that the situation may not always apply universally.
The video has sparked a lively discussion in the comments section, with users sharing their own experiences and perspectives:
One noted, "You're gonna be the first one off the bus, too!"
Another said, "Diabolical sense of humour," while a third added, "Well done, boy."
An Instagram user shared, "I once saw a lady rush up the front and then we departed from the back of the plane."

Justifying the reason to rush, one joked, "God forbid I wanted to get fresh air and stretch my legs."
Another said, "I've never understood people who jump up and queue in the aisle the moment the plane lands. Nobody is going anywhere until they open that door, and that ain't happening for at least 10 minutes, so sit yourself back down."
Finding it relatable, one added, "I literally do this alllll the time, same with boarding the plane."

However, not everyone found the hack logical. One wrote, "There is the 2nd bus. The first bus has already filled with passengers and left."
Another argued, "People miss the connecting flight because of people like you"
While the debate continues, the video highlights a small but familiar travel habit, one that many may now think twice about the next time they land.
