Travellers are often drawn to destinations that showcase unique natural phenomena and rare landscapes found only in specific regions of the world. One such attraction is a 3-million-year-old volcano on Edinburgh Hill in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. A video going viral on Instagram shows glimpses of this ancient volcano. As shared in the video, it is a 180m high volcano in the middle of freezing water.
Sharing her experience along with glimpses of the surreal volcano, the explorer wrote, "NGL, this was the last day of expeditions, and I was super tired. It looked super foggy and bloody cold out there, visibility was super low, and I hadn't done any research about where we were stopping, but there was NO WAY I was going to miss ANYTHING. I'm so glad we got out on the zodiacs because this looks like it's from another planet."

The video went viral with nearly 7 million views on Instagram. Several people shared their thoughts on the ancient volcano in the comment section.
One wrote, "I have never seen this before! Super cool!" Someone joked, "Definitely a dragon waiting to ambush me there."
A viewer asked, "I see everyone's wearing gloves, are you not able to touch it for a specific reason? Or is it illegal? I ask because I would love to feel it with my hands (curiosity)."
