- Trash included takeaway containers, bottles, and food wrappers piled three feet high
A hotel staff in China were left stunned after discovering the aftermath of a guest's two-year stay at an esports-themed property. Esports hotels have become popular among gamers seeking immersive experiences, offering top-tier equipment and private gaming spaces. However, this incident highlights the extreme lengths some enthusiasts might go to for uninterrupted play. After the guest checked out, the hotel staff was shocked to see the room buried under a mountain of rubbish, making the furniture and fixtures almost invisible.
Gamer Turns Hotel Room Into A Disgusting Dump
The guest had checked into the esports hotel in Changchun, Jilin Province, which caters to gaming enthusiasts with private setups, high-speed internet, and ergonomic chairs. He reportedly spent two uninterrupted years inside, rarely venturing out, and some staff members admitted they never even saw his face, according to Express UK.
When he finally checked out on December 12, 2025, the scene inside the room was shocking. Video footage circulating online shows heaps of old takeaway containers, empty drink bottles, and dirty food wrappers covering every inch of the room. In the bedroom, the rubbish was piled three feet deep, almost swallowing two gaming chairs and a table.

Three Days Of Cleanup And Permanent Damage
It took cleaning crews three full days to clear the mess, but the damage was so severe that the room now requires renovation before it can be offered to future guests. Hotel staff revealed the guest still owes more than 10 days of unpaid fees, amounting to around CNY 2,700 (approximately Rs 34,412). While financial troubles are suspected as the reason for his sudden departure, the hotel has chosen not to involve the police and will not disclose his identity due to privacy rules.
