Flight journeys are supposed to be a breeze, but what happens when comfort takes a backseat? From in-flight entertainment to cosy seating, airlines usually spare no expense in keeping passengers happy. But recently, passengers on a US airplane faced a distressing situation when the aircraft's air conditioning system suffered a technical glitch and stopped working. To make matters worse, the temperature on that particular day was a sweltering 130°F (54°C), adding to the misery. A traveller who was onboard shared the unpleasant experience on TikTok by uploading a video on the platform.

The footage was later posted on Reddit. The clip offered a glimpse of the chaos that unfolded inside the flight. Frustrated passengers were seen fanning themselves with the in-flight manuals and magazines, unable to tolerate the blistering heat. While the cabin crew addressed the difficult situation, their announcement further infuriated the travellers.
They asked the passengers to have some patience and stay "calm". "Folks, we are trying to do our best right now. The sooner we get the air, the better. Please be seated, seatbelts fastened and armrests down. Please meditate and stay calm," said the flight attendant on a speaker. The sarcastic text layout read, "POV: It is 130 degrees on the plane and you are being told to meditate."

The post sparked outrage among Reddit users who criticised the "meditate" suggestion. Many also highlighted health concerns.
"That is my hell. I find normal plane stuffy and nearly unbearable," admitted a Redditor.
"I am a pretty chill person, but I would have had a full-on panic attack if I were stuck in there," confessed another.
One person resorted to sarcasm as they wrote, "And in the end, they were all given airport food vouchers and an official apology. The food vouchers did not cover the price of a meal."
"People with medical problems can die from the heat at that temperature. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen," slammed an individual.

"I think it needs to be illegal to keep people sitting on the tarmac without A/C. It will cause medical emergencies," noted someone else.
