SSLC exam results declared in Puducherry, rise in overall pass percentage

Puducherry: The results of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) public examination held in March-April in Puducherry and Karaikal regions this year are declared today and the overall pass percentage has increased by two per cent.

Releasing the results, Chief Minister N Rangasamy said a total of 18,671 students appeared for the test in Puducherry and Karaikal regions and of them 17, 528 came out successful establishing an overall pass percentage of 93.88 in the two regions.

Mr Rangasamy said V Amsika of St Patrick's Higher Secondary school was the top ranker with 499 out of 500 marks.

The Chief Minister said that the government would soon set up a panel to go into the proposal to introduce CBSE pattern of education in the primary school level.

Presently all the government and private schools in Puducherry and Karaikal regions adopt the curriculum and pattern of education of neighbouring Tamil Nadu while Mahe and Yanam regions adopt the pattern in the neighbouring Kerala and Andhra Pradesh respectively.
