Pune: Police in Pune, Satara and Kolhapur districts of Maharashtra have launched a massive search for four Pune-based advertising professionals who have mysteriously gone missing while on their way to Goa for vacation.

The four missing - three men and a woman - working with a reputed advertising and marketing firm in Pune's Kothrud area had left in a silver i20 car bearing number MH-12 FY 4510 on Friday night.

CCTV footage shows they were last seen on Saturday morning at the Khedshivapur toll plaza near Pune after which all contact with them was lost.

"Mobile phones of all the four are switched off,'' said SB Nawale of Kothrud Police who is investigating the case.

Their family members, who initially did not take their disappearance seriously, got worried when the family of the missing woman, who the men wanted to drop at her place in Kolhapur on their way to Goa, could not contact her.

"The girl has not reached her house yet,'' said a concerned V Lele, father of one of the missing men, Pranav. The other two missing men have been identified as Chintan Buch and Sahil Qureshi.

A complaint has been filed at Kothrud police station and wireless messages sent out to different police stations on the way. Alerts have been issued in Satara and Kolhapur districts too. "We have formed teams to track the four,'' said Mr Nawale.

The police have ruled out the possibility of the vehicle meeting up with an accident as no such report has been filed along the route the four had taken on their way to Goa.
