Sunny To Priyanka: Desi Celebs Make New York Fashion Week Trend

Sunny Leone and Priyanka Chopra are making New York Fashion Week trend today.

New York Fashion Week has begun with desi tadka, with celebs from India making all the headlines.

Whether they're descending down the runway in extravagant designer wear or attending fancy shows, there's more than one familiar face at the ongoing fashion event.

From Sunny Leone to Priyanka Chopra, here are the celebrities making New York Fashion Week trend today.

Sunny Leone: The Ragini MMS 2 actress is the first Bollywood celebrity to walk at New York Fashion Week. She scorched the ramp in designer Archana Kochhar's creation. "Won't ever forget this," tweeted Sunny Leone, who is Canadian of Indian origin.

Reshma Qureshi: Sunny wasn't the only one to travel to New York for the event. Acid attack survivor Reshma, 19, also walked the ramp for designer Archana Kochhar, amidst cheers and applause. "I feel really good and the experience was great," she told AFP after the show. "I feel as though it has definitely changed my life."

Priyanka Chopra: Like we didn't envy the Quantico actor's life enough... Homegirl Priyanka hasn't walked the ramp at the fashion gala but cut a pretty picture at not one but two events so far. She had a beautiful evening by the Brooklyn Bridge at the Thakoon show (which also involved some twerking with model Karolina Kurkova):

And had a lot of fun at the Refinery29 event too...

Amruta Fadnavis: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis's wife Amruta was the showstopper for a collection by Pune-based institute Chasa Institute of Design and Technology.

Jacqueline Fernandez: The Dishoom actor is also set to make a splash at the fashion gala in New York. Jacqueline is the brand ambassador for TRESemme in India and the hair care line is the official backstage partner at New York Fashion Week. She will reportedly attend shows by fashion giants like Hugo Boss, Carolina Herrera and Oscar de la Renta. "The whole vibe is all about taking fashion and style a notch higher, and that's totally me. I cannot wait to take away some great beauty and fashion trends from there," she told IANS before leaving for New York.
