While many on social media shared the photo of the new Rs 200 note, some were sceptical.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has cleared a proposal to introduce bank notes of Rs 200 denomination, according to a
report in Livemint.com. "The process of printing the new Rs 200 notes is likely to begin after June, once the government officially approves this new denomination," says the report. While there is no official confirmation from the RBI, Internet was quick to find a picture of the 'new' note! The blue-coloured note which mentioned 'Rs 200' thrice started circulating on Twitter and WhatsApp.
While many on Twitter shared the photo excitedly, some were sceptical.
Another image of the 'new Rs 200 note' was also seen doing the rounds of Twitter.
Jokes were soon flowing on the web about what the new note would look like.
