A 22-year-old woman from Aligarh was today apprehended by security personnel at a Delhi Metro station when she allegedly showed an intent to commit suicide on the rail tracks.
The incident was reported at 1:00 pm from the Noida City Centre Metro station where Central Industrial Security Force or CISF personnel manning the CCTV surveillance area noticed a woman in distress and moving towards the yard area of platform no 2.
"The woman, a resident of Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh, said she came to the station with an intent to commit suicide. She did not disclose any further reasons to the lady security personnel counselling her, after which she was handed over to Metro authorities and her family was informed," a senior CISF official said.
CISF is mandated to secure Delhi Metro network.
