Anushka Sharma's Entire Wedding Wardrobe, In One Place

The wedding might be over, but that doesn't mean we can't fawn over Anushka's wedding wardrobe one last time

Wedding of the year - that's what most people are calling it. There's certainly no reason to debate that. No matter how many glam weddings and events took place in the year that went by, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma's quiet Italian escapade won millions of hearts, despite fans being disappointed that it was such a hush-hush affair. Unsurprising, considering the look of love being mirrored in Virat and Anushka's eyes. It was all that anyone needed to be reminded that fairy tales do exist outside of Disney movies. Yes, the setting was perfect, the decor on point, the outfits by Sabyasachi could not have been more beautiful - but love, it does trump it all, doesn't it?

And even as we unwillingly say goodbye to the gorgeous couple, as they start their journey towards a lifetime of happiness, here's us, fawning one last time, on Anushka's wedding wardrobe.

It all officially began when Anushka and Virat shared pictures of the wedding on social media, with the same caption, declaring their undying love for each other and thanking their fans for their love and support. The caption was cute, yes, but Anushka's outfit was what really caught our attention.

This picture was then, of course, followed by a barrage of images. Their official wedding photographer Joseph Radhik shared some seriously aww-worthy images.

Designer Sabyasachi was one step ahead, and shared pictures detailing exactly what Anushka wore on each of her functions.

1. The Engagement:

"For her engagement, Anushka wanted to wear a Sabyasachi velvet saree. And we made it in our signature Gulkand Burgundy. It was hand-embroidered using miniature pearls and the finest quality zardosi and marori. She wore a stunning uncut diamond and pearl choker with matching studs. The entire look was complemented with kohl-rimmed eyes, red roses and our now iconic micro dot bindi." said Sabyasachi as he posted this engagement picture on Instagram.

2. For The Mehendi:

"For her mehendi, Anushka wanted a boho look full of bright colours. Hot pink was her favourite. We created a graphic lehenga in fuchsia pink and Indian orange. It was hand-printed by the famed Calcutta block printers and hand-embroidered with gota and marori. Artists from The Sabyasachi Art Foundation rendered a beautiful sixties pop print and it was silk screen printed, hand woven Indian silk. Anushka accessorised herself with earrings from the Sabyasachi Heritage Jewelry collection, a stunning pair of jhumkas crafted in 22k gold with Iranian turquoise, tourmalines, uncut diamonds and Japanese cultured pearls. Custom juttis in hand woven brocade and zardosi completed the look."

With such a detailed description, you can thank Sabya for providing all the inspiration you can need for styling for a wedding.

Doesn't Anushka look absolutely stunning? Who would've thought all those colours thrown together could actually work.

3. The Wedding:

Then came the big day, and Anushka decided to go for a simple, delicate and classic bridal look. There's very little that can go wrong, when you're in a classic Sabyasachi lehenga, traditional Indian jewellery and minimal makeup.

Sabyasachi reiterated that no matter where you come from, what profession you're in, every Indian bride succumbs to age-old traditions on her wedding day.

Anushka wore an uncut diamond and spinel choker, earrings and matha patti from The Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery collection. She made a low bun covered with Tuscan hydrangeas, which, honestly, just put the whole look together.

"Anushka wore a pale pink lehenga with Renaissance embroidery in vintage English colours embellished with silver-gold metal thread, pearls and beads. Bridal jewellery handcrafted with syndicate uncut diamonds, pale pink spinel and baroque Japanese cultured pearls by the Sabyasachi Heritage Jewelry collection." wrote Sabyasachi.

4. The Delhi Reception:

From dreamy Tuscany, and the oh-so-romantic honeymoon (we can only imagine!) the couple came back to Virat Kohli's hometown to celebrate some more.

Giving details on this outfit on Instagram, Sabyasachi said, "I don't think Indian brides feel complete without wearing the colour red in one of their functions. Anushka decided to wear red on her reception. And much to my absolute delight, it would be a red Benarasi saree. From the by-lanes of Peeli Kothi in Benaras. I was particularly excited about this look because I have seen an entire generation of Bengali women getting married in red Benarasi sarees. The red bindi, the sindoor and the mogras in her hair just made the look more potent and powerful. She chose to wear heritage uncut diamond choker and jhumkas from the Sabyasachi Bridal Jewelry collection... All I can say is thank you Anushka!"

5. The Mumbai Reception

After sticking to strictly traditional garb for the wedding and the Delhi reception, it was only fitting that Anushka amped up the glam quotient substantially back home, in Mumbai.

Describing her final look, Sabyasachi, on Instagram, said, "For her Mumbai reception, Anushka wanted to wear old world glamour. And we decided to 'Jazz' it up in smoky grey. Hand beaten silver thread, textured sequins and cut organza flowers were assembled on an embroidered tulle base to create an ethereal lehenga. Award winning master craftsmen from Lucknow rendered her stunning dupatta which was cinched on the waist with our 'Bengal tiger' belt. Anushka's look was accessorised with a necklace and earrings hand crafted with rose cut diamonds, solitaires and briolettes from the Sabyasachi fine jewelry collection."

Anushka Sharma has definitely been bowling us over (no pun intended) with her movie choices for a while - but her real life love story and her choice of outfits as a bride have had us drooling.

If there was one thing we can all learn from the Virat-Anushka wedding, it's simplicity and minimalism. No one has done it as well as they did.
