Sometimes it is not clear to know if you actually like your job or not. There are days when we hate it and absolutely can't stand to be in it, even contemplate leaving it. Then there are days when you have been so mighty productive that you feel like the world is your oyster and there's nothing you can't achieve. Or you get to hear a couple of nice words from your boss and it feels like you can achieve anything.
And if there are days on end that you can't get yourself to feel good about your job then maybe there is something you need to change about it, unless it is the job that needs a changing.
So how does one even know if they are in the right job? Apart from the obvious signs, how does one figure out that your job is something that will keep you going in the long run?
Here are some things to consider.
You have a drive to work
You don't have to drag yourself out of the bed in the morning to get to work. When you are working, time flies and you don't need to push yourself to simply get through the day.
You are learning as much as giving from/to your job
There is a symbiotic process of using your skills to bring the best into your job and the job teaching you things that are expanding your skill set and your learning. There are challenges and you take risks which only make you grow professionally.
You like the work-environment
Not just do you get along with your colleagues , your boss is also fun to work with and hones your skills and brings the best out of you. There is a fine balance between your work environment and your personal life and neither jeopardizes the other.
You have a growing curve
Your job and organisation is in good health and there is only going forward from here. You know what you want and it is in line with what your job demands therefore helping you lay a great foundation stone in your career.
