The red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival 2018 has been replete with female Indian actors so far. From Deepika Padukone to Kangana Ranaut to Mallika Sherawat and Huma Qureshi - we've seen more Indians walk the red carpet at Cannes than ever before. The list isn't even over yet. There's still everyone's favourite fashionista, Sonam Kapoor to go. But more importantly, the original Cannes diva - yes, we're talking about Aishwarya Rai - has arrived and made her red carpet appearance. No matter who walks the red carpet at Cannes and how great they look, Aishwarya Rai will always be the benchmark for Indian actresses making an appearance at Cannes. After all, this is her 17th year attending the festival - and so far we have very little to complain about as far as Aishwarya's style at Cannes goes (other than the time she did the purple lips, maybe).
Aishwarya walked the red carpet this evening wearing a Michael Cinco gown. Aishwarya's multi coloured gown was brimming with embroidery and sequins work. Those colours really worked for Aishwarya but what really added that extra oomph was the long train that accompanied the gown. Aishwarya's makeup too was on point. A simple cat eye and red lips did the trick for the star who walked this red carpet for the very first time in 2002.
Have a look at that train. See what we mean about it adding all that drama and oomph to her look? How beautiful. Kudos to Aishwarya Rai's stylists for this look.
Before she walked the red carpet today, we saw Aishwarya in a colourful Manish Arora ensemble for her press interactions. Another resplendent look for Aishwarya.
Aishwarya looked stunning today, but going back for a minute to her purple lips, just for those of you who can't remember that look. Even though it was a bit of a miss, at least Aishwarya dared to try something new. That deserves praise. Here's a look at Aishwarya's purple lipped look.
Never mind what Aishwarya Rai did in 2016, we're loving what she's doing so far in 2018. Good sartorial choices for Aishwarya so far, don't you think? Can't wait to see what she'll wear next.
