The incident took place on Saturday at Sindhanur City Municipal Council office.
A Karnataka government employee was caught on camera kicking a woman colleague in Raichur, about 427 km from Bangalore. The CCTV footage shows the man, Sharanappa, emerge from behind his desk and walk up to the visibly scared woman who tries to move away before he lands a kick. The shaken woman then picks up her bag and leaves the office.
Later, she filed a complaint against Sharanappa, who was dismissed from service and arrested by the police, news agency ANI reported. A case has been registered against him.
The incident took place on Saturday at Sindhanur City Municipal Council office. The woman, who was observing a fast of Ramzan, reportedly turned up late for work. As it was a Saturday, only a few employees were called to work. An angry Sharanappa, a computer operator, assaulted her allegedly after an argument broke out between the two about her being late.
The police are investigating into the case.
