UPSC CS IAS IPS IFS Mains Result 2016 Declared; Check Now

The wait is over; IAS Mains Result 2016 Declared

New Delhi: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the much awaited, UPSC Civil Services Exam Mains Result 2016. UPSC had conducted Civil Services Main Examination 2016 for IAS, IPS and IFS and other central services in the month of December previous year. The week-long examination (3 December- 9 December 2016) had witnessed candidates who were shortlisted for the same based on their merit in the prelims result. Those candidates who had appeared for the UPSC Main examination 2016 can now check their result at the official portal of UPSC (upsc.gov.in). The next step in the recruitment process is Personality Test/ Personal Interview.

UPSC Civil Services 2016: Personality Test

Personality Test of the selected candidates is likely to be conducted from 20th March. Personality Tests of the candidates who have been selected will be held in the office of the UPSC at Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi-110069. The date and time details of Personality Test will not be intimated to the qualified candidates individually. All the details regarding personality tests be displayed on the Commission's Website, http://www.upsc.gov.in.

The markssheets of aspirants, who have not qualified, will be put on the UPSC website within fifteen days from the date of publication of the final result, after the Personality Test and will be there on the bebsite for a period of sixty days.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) earlier had assured the candidates that it would consider as valid various interpretations used in answering a question asked in civil services main examination during the evaluation. Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh, in a written reply  was answering to question asked regarding a problem candidates faced in the UPSC Main Examinations which was conducted in December 2016.

Various web portals in the past reported about an early release of the results (some even reported as 'declared') and that caused tension and anxiety among the aspirants. This unruly practice without any confirmation from the authorities compelled the candidates who were waiting for the results to expect the result 'anytime'.
