The application process for GATE 2018 started on September 1, 2017 and will end on October 5, 2017.
The individual vacancies in each of the engineering branches would be advertised by NTPC around the same time as commencement of online application process.
NTPC Selection Process for Executive Trainees
Candidates would be shortlisted for appearing in an Online Aptitude Test based on their GATE 2018 score. Further based on the performance in the online aptitude test, candidates would be called for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Candidates would need to secure minimum qualifying marks each in Group Discussion and Interview separately to be considered for merit list.
The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of 85% weightage of GATE score, 5% weightage of Group Discussion marks, and 10% weightage of Interview marks.
Candidates who are selected will have to undergo one year training. The final posting will be decided on the basis of performance during the training and requirement per se.
